Common Questions

To be eligible for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), you must meet certain criteria set by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

Generally, you may be eligible if you:

  • Are under 65 years of age when you apply

  • Are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa

  • Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities

  • Need support now to reduce your future needs or to participate more fully in the community

The NDIA will assess your application based on the evidence you provide, such as medical or allied health reports.

At Croften Care, we provide a wide range of NDIS services tailored to each participant’s needs, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Day Options programs, Community Access, and In-Home Support.

Our team also offers Specialist Support Coordination, Social Work and Counselling, Play Therapy, and Positive Behaviour Support services.

Everything we do is built on strong, positive relationships, with our participants leading the decision-making. This ensures each person receives the right support to achieve their goals, grow their independence, and truly thrive.

Our difference is our focus on relationships and stability. Many of our staff have been with us long-term, which means consistent, familiar support workers for participants. We also customise every service to suit the person — no one-size-fits-all approach.

Yes — Croften Care is a fully registered NDIS provider in South Australia. This means we meet all NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards, giving participants and their families confidence that our services are safe, compliant, and of the highest quality.

Yes! Our team works closely with participants, families, and support coordinators to match people with the right home and housemates. We also work with Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) providers to support participants requiring specialised housing.

Absolutely! We will try to make these changes a positive experience for you. We understand that human’s are diverse and we prefer to spent time with certain types of people, and that’s ok!

To prove your eligibility, you’ll need to provide evidence of your disability when you submit your NDIS Access Request Form. This helps the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) understand how your condition affects your daily life and whether you meet the NDIS criteria.

Useful evidence can include:

  • Reports from your GP, specialist, or allied health professionals (e.g., physiotherapist, psychologist, occupational therapist)

  • Information about how your disability impacts your mobility, communication, self-care, learning, or social interaction

  • Evidence that your disability is permanent and significant, and that you need support to participate in everyday activities

Contact our team and we’ll walk you through a simple intake: a quick call, a meeting to understand your goals, and a plan for next steps.

Starting is simple! You can get started in three simple steps:

  1. Contact our team via phone, email, or our online enquiry form.
  2. We’ll arrange a meeting to understand your goals, support needs, and NDIS plan.
  3. We’ll prepare a Service Agreement and start matching you with the right supports.

Where possible, we aim to assist with emergency respite, short-term accommodation, or urgent support shifts. Availability depends on staffing and participant needs — please contact us directly to discuss.

Croften Care operates SDA and Non-Specific SIL homes across South Australia, designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment. We offer both shared living arrangements and individual options depending on participant needs, with 24/7 support available.

To switch to our services, you can contact us directly. We will discuss your needs, how we can support you, and assist with the transition process to ensure it’s smooth and meets your requirements.

We’ve designed our cancellation policy to be fair and understanding. If you need to cancel a service, we ask for at least 7 days’ notice so we can offer the time to another participant. If less notice is given, a fee may apply as outlined in your service agreement, to cover the supports we had planned for you.
